Update #10

Gracious Goodness!  Two hours after I sent you the email that all was back to normal we got a text saying that the situation was ramping up again. Things turned bad quickly on Monday in Wamena and parts of Jayapura. Wamena is a 45 minute flight from here. It is where we have our other HIS school. We have been there several times and right now it is very unsafe. There is great rioting and violence. The streets were not safe so many Indonesian sought out our school as a place of refuge. They were all huddled in the library as police outside shot bullets into the air to try and control the demonstrators. A stray bullet went through the school roof and hit one of the Indonesian ladies on the leg. She is ok but everyone is very scared.  Most of the missionaries there have been evacuated to Sentani and we have been housing them at our guesthouse. The airport has been shut down but MAF was able to evacuate everyone safely. The government has been shutting down the internet again in some places and power for many homes and businesses. As of right now, our area is safe. There have been some rioting again and demos but nothing as violent as before. Keep praying for the peace of Papua. If you want to know more just google - unrest in Wamena. Or unrest in Papua. BBC News has some good articles.
Please also pray for Wyatt and Emma as it is hard to be so far away and not know if we are safe here or not. They love Papua and their hearts break for the people.
