Quieting Down Update #11

Hello. Now that things have quieted down I wanted to send you all an update. All of the evacuated families have been able to return to their homes. It looks like, as of now, Wamena is safe.  At least 350 stores were burned and the number of deaths has not been released. It will take quite some time to rebuild everything to what it was before. Please keep praying. There are always a lot of emotional things to work through after a trauma like this.

We feel like we are in a form of "recovery mode" to some degree. Normally when we are running the dorm we have 4 house helpers working to keep everything running smoothly. But now we only have two, so during those 2 weeks of having up to 22 people here all we could do was laundry and food. This next week we will be trying to clean up and get ready for the next group. We have a broken washer, and a broken coffee maker (no way!), this morning the oven ran out of gas, and who knows what else I will find later when I start on the rooms. Haha. But we are so very thankful God used us to care for these families. It was a blessing to walk this journey with them.

Thanks again for caring and for praying.
Love you
Rachel
