Celebrations

We have had two days of celebrations here.  What fun!  Yesterday I helped throw an engagement party for my friend Alyssa and her fiancé Alan.  They will be getting married this summer in the States and many of the people here will not be able to attend.  So, it was a lot of fun to have a party for them.  We had chocolate cakes and brownies and cheesecake, and white cakes…delish!  And today, it is my birthday.  I am officially 36 years old.  From almost being born in an elevator in Missouri to celebrating in the jungles of Papua, and 36 years in between.  I borrowed  a camera so I would have some pictures to show you.

Cale has learned how to ride his bike without training wheels and loves this new freedom.  Now he is one of the BIG kids (according to him).  He is also becoming quite the Picasso.  One of his favorite things to do is draw.

Emma has been taking some after school gymnastics classes from one of the ladies here.  She loves the balance beams and doing handstands.  Sophie spends almost every day after school with her friend Hannah.  They are like two peas in a pod.  They can’t wait to get their homework done so they can go read, or go rollerblading.

Love you-
