We made it to Bali

We are in Indonesia-we made it as far as Bali.  This trip is killer.  It starts off in sheer horribleness because we have to say good-bye to those we love so dearly.  The kids really took it harder than other times-they were sobbing and weeping.  Even Cale.  It is so difficult to see that.

Here is a recap: (I am doing the times in Wisconsin time so you can really get a feel for the length of the trip)

Sunday morning 3:00 a.m. – Up and getting ready to leave the house at 4 a.m.

Flight out of Milwaukee – 7 a.m.

Landed in Atlanta – 8:40 a.m.

3 hour layover

Atlanta to Narita, Tokyo - 13 hours and 21 minutes

Took off late because a lady fell on the plane and popped out her kneecap.  Had to wait for the paramedics.

We left Atlanta at around 12:30 in the afternoon Sunday

Landed in Tokyo at 2 a.m. Monday

3 hour layover

We left Narita at 5:oo a.m. Monday for Singapore- 6 hours 20 minutes

Landed in Singapore 11:30 in the afternoon Monday Wisconsin time

(It was 2:30 a.m. Singapore time.  Went to a hotel for a little bit of sleep)

Woke up at 8:30 a.m. Singapore time - 7:30 p.m. Wisconsin time Monday Night

We had a bit of a problem when they couldn’t find our tickets in the system but it all worked out

Left Singapore at 1:00 p.m. Singapore time - Midnight Wisconsin Time – 3 ½ hour flight

Landed in Bali at around 4:30 p.m. Monday Bali time and 4:30 a.m. Tuesday morning in Wisconsin

I know it is confusing.  The time change is crazy.  The kids schedules are all messed up still.  The first morning they woke us up at 5:30, and this morning it was 4:45.  We only have two more full days to get adjusted before we have to get back in the swing of things and get back to school stuff.

Thanks to all of you who once again helped pray us safely here.  Don’t stop please.  Pray with us all year long.  We need you.

Love,

Rachel
