Jakarta

Here we are in Jakarta.  So far it has been interesting!  The trip from Jayapura to Makassar was on a very old, and dirty airplane.  The cushion cover on Emma’s seat was coming up, there was no food and drinks, no blankets even though the air conditioner was so high, the armrests were broken, the seats did not go back…haha!  How funny!  We switched planes in Makassar (hallelujah).  This one was much nicer.  Still no food or drinks, but the seats were better.

We got our luggage in Jakarta and notice that three of our six bags were wet with something and reeked of vomit!!!!  It never pays to complain here when things like that happen.  All they do is have you sit and wait for a very long time and then do nothing.  So we did not complain.  However, the smell almost got the better of Emma and I who were in the back of the taxi by the bags on the way to the hotel.  We could not get the windows open and almost hurled ourselves.  We were able to sleep a bit in the hotel which was such a blessing.  I found a cleaning cart in the hallway so I grabbed the can of Glade and sprayed the bags.  Now they smell like lavender vomit!!  Ha ha. (Mom and Dad, you may want to bring some big black trash bags when you pick us up to try to contain the stench in the van).  There was a pool so this morning we took the kids swimming, (except Wyatt since his arm is in a cast…poor guy) then we laid Cale down for a short nap.  We are getting ready to check out and get some lunch before we board the plane for the next leg.

Keep praying.  So far, so good.

Love you all

Rachel
