Back from OE- Day One and Day Two

Hello beautiful people! We are back and are alive and well. What a whirlwind of 2 weeks this has been. HAHA. But so wonderful. I can't wait to tell you all about OE. We had trouble getting in to the village because the airstrip was foggy so we flew to Wamena to wait and then when the fog lifted we were able to land. WOOHOO!
It is an amazing experience to fly into a village here because the villagers always flood the airstrip to see what is going on and who is coming in.

Once we landed and greeted the people, every group had a job to do. My group had to set up a room for the girls to sleep. Other groups set up the bathrooms, or found water etc.
This is the building we stayed in.

We had a great time meeting the villagers and hanging out with them before we had our night meeting.
Everyday we had plenty of free time to interact with the people and play with the kids. That is my favorite part! Day two we had to put together the tools we brought, do a Kid's Club and assemble some hula hoops, we did crafts with the kids, worked on the water tanks, and taught them how to hula. (That was fun!)

This is Fenna.

This is Agu.
My group built a bathroom for our amazing chef, Aunt Joan.
It rained hard every day and was very muddy. Praise the Lord for boots!
Each village is always different than the last village but one thing never changes. People love it when you spend time with them. It doesn't matter if you can speak the same language or not. They can tell you care when you spend time with them. And that is what we did. I pray that it made a lasting impact.
God is good. Thanks for praying. I will send you more pictures and updates in the next email.
If you have Facebook please check out all the pictures and videos I have posted. The videos really give you a better sense of what it was like.
