We made it back to Sentani. What a long flight. We left Singapore at 5 p.m. Friday their time and arrived back home by 8 a.m. on Saturday. The kids did great. The flight from Jakarta to Sentani is a hard flight to sleep on because it is during the night but the flight attendants have all the lights on, we stop three times and they bring food and drinks around after every stop.
We decided that for our last day we would take a boat tour on the Singapore River. It was a beautiful day and we enjoyed the diversity of Singapore.
Cale fell down, so we all tried to cheer him up by making him laugh.
We were able to see some of the world’s tallest buildings along with the six-star fullerton Hotel, and the amazingly built Marina Sands Casino that is being created by people from Las Vegas. (I took these two pictures below from the internet. This is what it will look like when it is finished. We saw it in the construction stage.) The lion/fish fountain represents the name of Sing-(lion) and Pore (Fish).
We also saw the Singapore Flyer which is the world’s largest ferris wheel. The funny domed thing is called Esplanade Theater on the Bay. The statues here are representing the children that lived here and swam in the river before it was the successful business center that it is today. What a terrific way to end our trip in Singapore. The colorful seats are for a floating football field.
Then we had the trip home…Some pictures from that-
Cale had fun riding on Wyatt’s suitcase. These trips always require lots of sitting around. The Immigration line in Jakarta took almost an hour and a half to get through.
Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers.
Love you
Rachel
